How to Choose the Right Adapter

SPA1001 is recommended for following situations:

• You are using more than 1 computer and sharing internet connection.
  
  
• Your internet modem is not connected directly to your computer.
  
  
• You are a tenant and the internet connection is provided by your landlord without a modem.
  
  
• You are travelling and staying in different hotels.

Please Note:

• You will need a hub or a router to use the Internet and TalkIP phone at the same time with a SPA1001.
  
  
• If you are sharing your Internet connection - you probably already have a hub or router set up in your enviornment.

SPA2100 is recommended for following situations:

• You are using ONLY 1 computer and NOT sharing internet connection.
  
  
• Your internet modem is connected directly to your computer.

Special notes for customers planning to send their TalkIP Adapters outside Canada:

Internet Service Providers (ISP) in each country provide DSL or ADSL service in different ways to the end customers. You have to determine your local set up and choose the appropriate adapter.

• ISP provides a cable, or telephone wire for the internet connection - no modem. If this is the case please select SPA1001.
  
  
• ISP provides a modem and the computer is directly connected to the modem to access the internet. If this is the case please select SPA2100.
  
  
• ISP provides a modem with a built in router. This allows you to connect multiple computers. If this is the case please select SPA1001.
