How to Create a Dial-up Connection to G3 Telecom:
- Double click My Computer, then Dial-up Networking, then Make New Connection.
- Under "Type a name for the computer you are dialing," put G3 Telecom. Under "Select a modem," choose your modem currently installed on your computer and click Next.
- Enter the correct dial-up number under the "Internet Access Numbers" section. Make sure you put the appropriate dialup number including area code into the "Telephone Number" column and leave the "Area Code" column blank. Select "Canada (1)" as the country code, then click Next.
- Click Finish to complete the process.
- A new "G3 Telecom" icon will appear under Dial-Up Networking window.

How to Change the Dial-up Properties for G3 Telecom:
- Right click on the G3 Telecom icon under Dial-up Networking in My Computer and click Properties.
- Under the General Tab, uncheck "Use country code and area code" (for Windows 95) or "Use area code and Dialing Properties" (for Windows 98).
- Under Server Types, make sure you uncheck the following items:
- Log on to Network.
- IPX/SPX
- NetBEUI
- Only Enable software compression and TCP/IP is checked.
- Click OK when done.
- Right click on the G3 Telecom icon and click Create Shortcut.
- Click Yes. A shortcut icon to G3 Telecom will appear on your desktop.

How to Verify TCP/IP Settings:
- Double click the Network icon in the Control Panel window.
- To verify your TCP/IP settings, highlight TCP/IP and click Properties (if you have more than one functioning TCP/IP, choose the TCP/IP => Dial-up Adapter).
- Windows 98 gives out a lengthy reminder about TCP/IP settings. Click OK to bypass.
- Under TCP/IP Properties:
- Under DNS Configuration: Select "Disable DNS." Everything else should just gray out.
- Under Gateway: Everything should be blank.
- Under WINS Configuration: Select "Disable WINS Resolution."
- Under IP Address: Select "Obtain an IP address automatically."
- Click OK to save settings."
- Under Network, click OK. If any changes were made, it will ask you to restart the computer, click Yes to do so.

Friendly Tip:
You are now ready to connect! Double click on the G3 Telecom icon, put in your User ID and Password (in lower case only) and press Connect, and after the authentication process, simply open up a browser and start surfing!
