Email Configuration

For all other email programs, please obtain the basic server information, and refer to the information from your program for setup instructions.

Friendly Reminder:
If you are a former AccessVantage customer, please use mail.accessv.com instead of pop3.g3telecom.ca as your incoming mail server.

For Outlook Express Users:

  1. Open up Outlook Express.

  2. If you have other email programs installed, a screen may appear with the following message, "Outlook Express is not the default email client, would you like Outlook Express to be the default email client?" Select Yes, if you want to use Outlook Express as the default email client.

  3. Click Tools -> Accounts on the main menu to go to the Internet Connection Wizard, if it doesn't pop up automatically.

  4. Click Add -> Mail
    • For Display name: Enter your name.
    • Click Next.

  5. Enter your email address (Your_User_ID@g3telecom.ca). Click Next.

  6. Fill out the following as shown below:
    • My incoming mail server is a POP3 (default)
    • Incoming mail (POP3) server: pop3.g3telecom.ca
    • Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: smtp.g3telecom.ca

  7. Put in your Account Name and Password which are the same as the ones for G3 Telecom. Make sure "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)" is NOT checked. Click Next.

  8. Click Finish and the setup is done.
Friendly Tip:
Follow the same procedures if you want to add more email accounts under Outlook Express.

For Outlook 2000 (and newer) Users:

  1. Open Outlook 2000, and on the Tools menu, click Accounts. (The Internet Connection Wizard will guide you to finish the configuration during the first time).

  2. On the Mail tab, click Add and then Mail.

  3. In the Internet Accounts dialog box, click Add, and then Mail. The Internet Connection Wizard will guide you through the account setup process.

  4. In the Display Name box, type the name you would like to have appear on all mail messages you send. Click Next.

  5. In the E-mail Address box, type your email address. For example, johnsmith@g3telecom.net.

  6. Under E-mail Server Names, type the information provided by your ISP, following these steps:
    • My incoming mail server is a POP3 (default)
    • Incoming mail (POP3) server: pop3.g3telecom.ca
    • Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: smtp.g3telecom.ca

  7. In Internet Mail logon, type in your username (part of the email address to the left of the "@" symbol) and password respectively. Then click Next.

    Note: Do not enable the Secure password respectively. Then click Next.

  8. In Friendly Name, type a name to identify your account and click Next.


  9. Under Choose Connection Type, click "Connect using my phone line."
