Tips for DSL Customers using a Router:
- The router must be setup for PPPoE operation. See the XP Setup Guide for the correct user name and password to use.
- All settings should be obtained from the server whenever possible.
- Leave Service Name field blank, if available.
- Use Keep-alive, not Connect on Demand, if such option is available.
- If you are connected but have problem browsing, reduce the MTU to 1412. Routers that do not provide MTU setting (eg. SMC7004ABR) cannot be supported and should be replaced.
- See your router's manual for further details.
