Terms & Conditions

G3 Home Phone Number Porting Policy

G3 Telecom works with a number of third party providers to port telephone and toll free numbers on our behalf, in accordance to the regulations of the United States and Canada (as applicable). When we submit a request to port your number to our Service, our service provider requires specific, detailed and accurate information to facilitate the port. At times you may be required to provide additional information, which may include a copy of your latest bill from your current service provider.

If you are porting your telephone or toll free number to G3 from another carrier, please follow the instructions for Inbound Number Porting. If you would like to port your G3 Telecom number out to another carrier, please follow the instructions for Outbound Number Porting.

Inbound Number Porting

YOU MUST KEEP YOUR PREVIOUS SERVICE ACTIVE IN ORDER TO PORT YOUR NUMBER TO G3 TELECOM. IF YOU CANCEL YOUR SERVICE PRIOR TO TRANSFERING YOUR SERVICE TO G3, G3 WILL NOT BE ABLE TO EFFECT THE TRANSFER AND YOU MAY LOOSE YOU EXISTING TELEPHONE NUMBER.

G3 is not able to port all telephone numbers to our service. Certain numbers are not supported by our third party service providers, as such they will not be able to port these numbers. If your number cannot be ported, G3 Telecom will notify you as soon as possible.

G3 Telecom may notify you via email that you are required to fax or email to G3 Telecom a copy of your bill from your current service provider to verify your customer and account information.

Toll free numbers. For toll free number porting requests, you must fax or email:

  1. Copy of your LOA with a handwritten signature
  2. Copy of a billing statement from your previous provider

Local and business numbers. For local and business number porting requests, you may be required to provide a copy of your billing statement and/or a copy of your LOA with a handwritten signature.

If there are additional numbers on your account with the losing provider other than the number to be ported, you must contact your previous provider's porting department and tell them whether you intend to retire those numbers when canceling service.

G3 Telecom will then submit your LOA to your previous provider and wait for approval to port your number. You will be notified by G3 Telecom via email if your previous provider requires additional information and/or corrections to your LOA before G3 Telecom can port your number.

When G3 Telecom receives approval to port your number from your previous provider, we will begin porting your number.

Outbound Number Porting

YOU MUST KEEP YOUR G3 TELECOM SERVICE ACTIVE IN ORDER TO PORT YOUR NUMBER TO YOUR NEW PROVIDER. G3 Telecom cannot guarantee that your G3 Telecom number will be held for porting if you cancel your G3 Telecom service prior to receiving confirmation that your number has been successfully ported.

Request to transfer your G3 Telecom service to your new provider. Your provider will forward this request to G3 Telecom.

Your new provider will notify G3 Telecom of your number porting request and G3 Telecom will verify your account information. G3 Telecom requests that you pay all outstanding invoices and/or charges on your account before we port out your number.

Upon verification of portability, G3 Telecom will notify your new provider that your G3 Telecom number may be ported.
